Fiona Ellis-Jones
Fiona is a seasoned media professional who has shaped the news agenda for millions of Australians, as the head of some of the country’s biggest newsrooms.
Fiona has reported on most of the significant news events of the last 20 years, including terror attacks, natural disasters, federal politics, high-profile crimes, and entertainment stories.
Fiona spent a decade as the Presenter and Executive Producer of ABC NewsRadio's agenda-setting national Breakfast program, where she live-interviewed politicians, executives, and key newsmakers every day.
She was a newsreader for ABC TV, and has run the radio division at ABC News, before becoming a senior executive in commercial media.
Fiona has trained hundreds of journalists in newsgathering, voice techniques, on-camera presentation, and editorial strategy. She is a regular guest lecturer at the prestigious Australian Film, Television and Radio School (AFTRS), and a judge for The Walkley Foundation and ACRA Awards.
Fiona’s experience in live news and managing large teams of journalists has given her a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities that come with being in the media spotlight.
